There are more than one hundred large companies with remote workers

Hiring remote workers has been in trend for a long time already, but who could expect that more and more companies are going to switch to a remote mode totally? However, that is true! To date, we counted more than one hundred large international companies where almost all – and in some cases, indeed, all! – employees are working from home.

The latest advances in such modern technologies as videoconferencing and, of course, cloud services, made it possible for many firms to become virtual with vast majority of workers working remotely during working hours.

There are several websites offering telecommuting, or remote, jobs in modern settings. Remote job allows you to work from home and do not visit office daily, basically it should not be even your home – some jobs let you work in any environment as long as you have time and internet connection. Telecommuting jobs also are very flexible in terms of working hours, usually you may consider own schedule. They can be full- or part-time. Recently the list of companies operating fully or almost fully in remote mode was released.

According to the creators of such list, as many as half of US working citizens have such positions that can be compatible with telecommuting.

Recent research identifies more than one hundred firms, 125 in particular, letting their specialists of various levels, including some managers, work remotely. Some of those firms belong to top industries of educational, human resources and hiring, IT and computers fields. Also, there are companies from such industries as news and media, marketing, law, accounting, spots, health, and even travel.

In the past, namely in 2014, such list of virtual firms with teleworkers included 26 companies only. By 2015 their number rose up to 76, and now in 2016 it is 125. Researchers also noted growing trend of posting more remote positions on hiring websites, up to 30% annually.

Remote jobs market in USA has grown 103% for the past ten years, furthermore, it is expected that by 2020 teleworkers number will see 50% increase.

According to CEO of Articulate, company that was included in the list of virtual firms, Adam Schwartz, opportunity of remote working place and schedule allows company to increase its productivity, moreover it offers greater level of engagement and balance for most of the life aspects. Articulate has been in remote mode for 14 years already, one of the conclusion was that giving a specific distributed working space is not always the best option for workers. He said it was one of the key reasons to continue with being virtual firm on the road to success.

By the way, more than half of Articulate workers reported better level of productivity if working remotely.

Researchers say that being a virtual company can be the same professional, viable, and successful as any of real traditional company, and that is the bottom line of released report. In many cases virtual environment helps to develop and use innovative processes, to expand creativity and collaboration between telecommuters, as well to build specific vibrant and healthy company culture, moreover, the absence of traditional on-site headquarters does not bring any harm but rather helps to create better working environment.
